Mixed Messages is a multi-tasking creative front that incorporates all aspects of dance music event management with a unique vision of bringing the Melbourne underground scene a new flavor of sound .

The Mixed Messages team was founded in 2005 by Michael Muska, Shane Tavish and Nick Hamilton (Tahl) who had watched the local underground dance music culture disintegrate amidst a club scene that had become saturated with novice DJs and parties that were geared towards selling-out a sub-standard club product.

The Mixed Messages philosophy centers on cultivating new concepts in dance music culture and evolving current trends in the way that dance music is created, played and enjoyed.

Mixed Messages has set out to be a movement that is purposely subversive to the aspects of dance music culture that our vision does not entail.

Mixed Messages has found a captive market through running a party that is original and is in arguably at the forefront of underground dance music in Melbourne.

Our music policy steps outside the restriction of genre and defies the popular notion of playing the same sound that can be heard just about anywhere.

Instead Mixed Messages parties incorporate all styles of music and welcome everyone from all parts of Melbourne's Techno/Breaks/Electro/Drum & Bass and Dub Step scene.

However our strongest support comes from within the industry. These strong relationships have allowed Mixed Messages to grow very quickly and has put us in a position where we have unrivaled access to the most cutting-edge music djs and venues available in Melbourne.
